Lakewood, WA is home to more than 64,000 residents and stands as one of the most culturally diverse cities in the state. We’re proud to be part of a community where diversity is the majority — according to the 2020 U.S. Census, 54% of our neighbors identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.
Despite our city’s vibrant mix of cultures and identities, there are still few community resources where LGBTQ+ individuals can gather, connect, and celebrate authentically. That’s why Lakewood Pride was created — to cultivate spaces of belonging, transformation, and healing through art, conversation, and community celebration, and to promote more inclusive LGBTQ+ events throughout the year.
To create inclusive, uplifting spaces that celebrate the beauty of diversity while fostering connection, creativity, and pride, we focus on utilizing community resources. We believe in bringing people together to share stories, build friendships, and strengthen the bonds that make Lakewood shine, especially through various Lakewood Pride and LGBTQ+ events.
At Lakewood Pride, we strive to create a community where everyone — regardless of gender, sexuality, or background — feels seen, valued, and empowered to live authentically. We envision a vibrant community rooted in compassion, creativity, and pride, where love and inclusion guide every gathering and connection. Our commitment extends to providing essential community resources and hosting engaging LGBTQ+ events that foster connection and celebration.
